Up the Creek - Ellicott City, MD

I was not looking for this image when I headed out to this wonderful state park. I was walking along the creek as I headed up to the main waterfall and the light was suddenly perfect as it pushed through the overcast sky. The moss on the riverbank looked like it was glowing from the diffused light, and the water was surprisingly bluer than normal. I stopped and set up my camera for a few shots and they were just not working out. The river was flowing away from me and when I went to the other side, the moss was not in the shot. I gave it one more try and about a year later I looked back at this and fell in love with the photograph. I almost never gave it another look. I’m glad I did.
