The Old Man of the Forest

After a long hike along a stream leading to several shallow pools and interesting waterfalls, I came to the main
event. A tall cascading falls, seen in the background here. It was great to see, but not east to photograph. So
I began to look around and the scenery. There was something in every direction, but suddenly I came across this
wonderful tree. The roots were reaching over and around the rocks and the lichen was making both tree and rock
seem like one. It was captivating. I took a shot, but didn’t have any idea what I had until almost a year later
when I discovered this photo. I am just as captivated now as I was standing there that late summer day.
